Start by selecting a color from the color wheel. Now look at the color directly across from it. That is its compliment. Designing this way simply means using these two colors as a base for all your selections. Accessories and furniture can be a shade variation but must stay within one of the two colors.
This room was designed with reds and greens.
The draperies are a combination of both colors while the carpeting is a very soft green. They are then complimented with bold red walls.
